Description

North Dakota's production is largely driven by the Bakken Shale, producing around 1.1 million barrels of oil per day as of late 2023. The state has maintained a consistent rate of well completions. Top operators are Continental Resources, Hess Corporation, Whiting Petroleum, Marathon Oil, and Oasis Petroleum. Major pipelines include the Dakota Access Pipeline, Bakken Pipeline System, Tesoro High Plains Pipeline, Enbridge Line 3, and ONEOK Bakken NGL Pipeline.
