The Powder River Basin in Wyoming is witnessing a steady increase in oil production. This trend follows several years of modest activity levels and the application of unconventional drilling techniques which have revitalized interest in the area. By the end of 2023, the oil output in the basin reached approximately 182,000 barrels per day (b/d), up from about 113,000 b/d at the start of 2018, and 338,000 BOE per day as of December 2023.
